Shorebreak Hotel500 Pacific Coast Highway The Shorebreak Hotel is a modern upscale boutique hotel situated in an oceanfront location overlooking Pacific Coast Highway in downtown Huntington Beach. Opened in May 2009 by San Francisco-based Joie de Vivre group within The Strand development at 5th Street and Pacific Coast Highway, just a block from Main Street, this is one of the best located hotels in town and puts you close to some of the best dining, shopping, and nightlife that Huntington Beach has to offer. The style at the Shorebreak Hotel is fresh and clean, and while trendy and modern, it retains a breezy, laid back beach vibe appropriate to its oceanfront location, helped by decorative touches such as the rope art installation behind the check-in desk, surfing themed artwork and rattan furniture. The Shorebreak's 157 rooms have a contemporary minimalist design with white bed linen, flat screen HD TVs, iPod docking stations, wi-fi internet access (additional charge) and walk out balconies. Room views vary from full waterfront vistas, partial ocean views, to city/courtyard outlooks. The hotel's Zimzala restaurant has a coastal Mediterranean themed menu, and a separate lounge serves lighter fare and cocktails, with happy hour from 3 pm - 7 pm daily. Outside there is a private courtyard deck area with seating and fire pits. The hotel has a well equipped fitness center with its own yoga studio, although no pool, but then who needs one when the beach is this close? Underground secure valet parking is available (additional charge) and surfboard lockers are provided. The Shorebreak is pet friendly. |
